Learn what IBD is, how e-health keeps you proactive, and why CalproSmart® connects patients with their care teams.

Introduction

Living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) can be challenging. At Calpro, we believe patients deserve tools that make care easier, more proactive, and more empowering. This page explains what IBD is, how e-health is transforming care, and why CalproSmart® is the right solution for you.

CHRONIC CONDITION

What is IBD?

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a chronic condition that causes inflammation in the digestive tract. The two main types are Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis.

Common symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, fatigue, and weight loss. IBD is lifelong, with periods of flare-ups and remission. Effective management requires regular monitoring to prevent complications and maintain quality of life.

DIGITAL TOOLS

E-health in IBD Management

Traditional IBD care often relies on hospital-based monitoring, which can be infrequent and reactive. E-health solutions are changing this by enabling remote, proactive monitoring.

Digital tools allow patients to track symptoms, measure biomarkers, and share data securely with clinicians. This approach improves patient knowledge, reduces emergency visits, and enhances quality of life, all while easing pressure on healthcare systems.
