Rapid self-test
CalproSmart® Self-Test RUO
CAL201RUO
What is it?
CalproSmart Self-Test RUO is an app guided lateral flow self-test designed for research use only (RUO) in studies and drug development related to chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
It enables researchers to monitor gut inflammation by measuring calprotectin levels, without requiring patients to send fecal samples to a laboratory. This approach allows more frequent data collection, supports remote sampling and simplifies screening and trial workflows. It also makes it easier to collect real time information from patient trials.
The test app can be integrated with other tools such as nutrition apps or PROMS questionnaires to support more complete and consistent data collection.
Why Calprotectin matters!
Calprotectin levels often rise 3–6 months before clinical symptoms appear, providing a unique opportunity to detect and study flare-ups at sub-clinical stages. This makes CalproSmart RUO ideal for longitudinal studies, early intervention research, and drug efficacy trials.
